Here’s a fantastic educational activity that the kiddos, and even the whole family, will love! Take a week of FREE Online Art Classes!
Artist Carla Sonheim is hosting “Kids Art Week” – a full week of free online video art lessons! Kids will learn the styles and techniques of famous artists like Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Robert Motherwell, and Jean Dubuffet and then create their own works of art!
You will need to gather a few supplies, but most of these you probably already have on hand in your craft cabinets:
- Tempera or acrylic paint
- Markers
- Crayons (24-ct. Crayola Crayons are on sale right now for just 50¢!)
- Watercolors
- Pencils
- Brown paper bag
- Watercolor paper (or other stiff paper)
You can sign up for Kids Art Week HERE and then on Friday, July 22nd, you will receive an email with the 2016 class codes and links. The first class is Monday, July 25th!
The class materials and Kids Art Week Facebook community group will remain available to you indefinitely. And you can also check out the 2015 Kids Art Week lessons!
Many school districts have done away with art in schools so this is an amazing way to get kids learning and talking about art!
*And if you’re in need of creative space, this adjustable folding table (regularly priced at $52) is on sale right now for just $34! We have this for our homeschooling and I love that it can be easily set up outside for messy art projects and crafts!
