Prismacolor Scholar Colored Pencils Only $13 - Plus 5 FREE Art Lessons!

This coming school year I am going to attempt to start doing a little more art with The Boy so I have been gathering art supplies that are a little bit above the Crayola age.

I had been looking at all the different brands of artist’s pencils and Amazon has this 48-pack of Prismacolor Scholar Colored Pencils (reg. $22.99) for just $13 (or you can find them for the same price online at Target). As a price comparison, Walmart has the 12-ct. package for $12.75!

These pencils are the preferred pencils for the beginning art student as the cores use a combination of a soft and hard wax making the tips less prone to breakage.

Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils get rave reviews!

The Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils are the pencils that are super popular with the Grown-up Coloring Book craze! Pricey if you can find them, but they get rave reviews!

Remember, Amazon prices can change quickly so be sure to verify the price before purchasing. Most Amazon orders ship FREE with a minimum purchase of $49 or with Amazon Prime – and Prime Members can get a free $1 credit for eBooks, digital music, and videos with the ‘No-Rush Shipping’ option at checkout. Don’t have Amazon Prime? See how you can sign up for a FREE 30-Day Trial!

We really enjoyed going through some of the projects in this free online art series by Carla Sonheim. She gives a short background of the featured artist, shows some examples of their work and art styles, and then has a very simple project that kids (or anybody) can do to create their own masterpieces using the artist’s techniques. The supplies are very basic and probably items you already have on hand at home.

I’m telling you, for the non-artsy types like myself, free online classes like these are amazing! The “live” dates have passed, but it’s not too late to sign up – and the lessons are available to view indefinitely!
