The list of stores that won’t be opening on Thanksgiving is growing!
I worked in retail for a number of years at two rather large department stores both as a sales floor associate and as a customer service department manager and cash auditor. I have to say I really appreciated having Thanksgiving Day off, to not only be with my family, but to recharge and mentally prepare for that 3 a.m. report time on Black Friday!
I know there were a lot of folks though that didn’t have family nearby or needed the extra cash and would have jumped at the chance to work on a holiday. What are your thoughts? Should all non-essential businesses be closed on Thanksgiving?
